Patreon Commission Guidelines

Patrons who subscribe $50 and up to the Tamberlane Patreon get to commission me either every month or every other month, depending on their patronage.

Patrons paying $50 or above get bi-monthly sketched busts.
Patrons paying $100 or more get bi-monthly flat-colored busts OR a previous bust sketch colored.
$250 folks get monthly 1-hour commissions or 2 telegram stickers.

Please note that these commissions are meant to be done quickly. No revisions are offered, and you may not request edits during the process UNLESS I make a mistake/forget something that is specifically listed in your submission.You may not get commercial rights for these pieces. If you want a commission for your novel or to sell on a t-shirt, please contact me separately to discuss rates.However, you may absolutely ink or color your sketch, or hire someone else to do it for you.Otherwise, my TOS applies.

NSFW Commissions

I will accept NSFW requests, but I am very picky about what I will take on. All NSFW commissions will be posted under my Zesty Marmalade persona, unless you mark your submission as private.

For NSFW requests, please consult my list of NSFW subjects that I am willing to draw.Please note that even harmless/non-sexual versions of kinks on the NO list are off the table. This is not a value judgment; it's a judgment on what I enjoy drawing. I recommend avoiding the MAYBE list unless you know for certain I'd be interested in drawing something.

Bust Commissions

$50 and $100 patrons can request bust commissions every other month. $50 patrons get sketches, while $100 patrons get flat colors.

Can I get my commission as a sticker for Telegram or Discord?
Yes! In fact, I prefer it! Either tier may get their requests in the form of large-format "stickers" for use in programs like Telegram or Discord.

Can I have a previous sketch colored for my commission?
Yes, provided that was a bust sketch you acquired from a previous month of this version of Patreon commissions.

1-Hour Commissions

$250 patrons get to request a 1-hour commission each month. For these commissions, I will set a timer and do as complete a piece as I am able within the time limit. Of course, this may seem very short, but I'm a speedy artist and can do quite a lot in one hour.However, in order to help you make the most of your requests, I offer the following guidelines:

Their Story So Far...

Varia Rael Yshon Mietmoor -- Vari for short -- is the only princess of a small, remote kingdom in Golmore that is dedicated to the defense of the realm against the coming demon apocalypse. Her father, the king, is the prophesied savior; her mother, the queen, is a healer and devotee to the cause. And Vari herself is the Prophet of Visions, granted the insight the king needs to make his military decisions and keep an eye on the movements of their foes.Here's the thing: the demon apocalypse doesn't exist, and Vari's "visions" are seizures in which her movements are interpreted by their seers. The King is cruel and it's not clear whether he believes in this demon apocalypse or if he's being manipulated behind the scenes. Either way, it doesn't matter, because he's vicious and beat the hell out of Vari any time she put a toe out of line.Enter Ephum
Vari, as their seer, is a vital part of the military machine in this tiny kingdom, and so she needs to be hidden away and jealously protected. When she was a child, the King sought out a bodyguard to assign to her. Presented with options from a slave house where they're trained to be good soldiers, Vari immediately took a shine to a child near her age: a quiet au ra boy named Ephum. The King was dissatisfied with the showing, and Vari, ever the mischievous child, ducks her father to come back and hire Ephum herself.During a fun romp through the city where Ephum is very aware that any misstep or harm that comes to Vari will result in his violent death. But she's never seen anything outside of the castle before, so he takes her to try some cart food and enjoy the sights. On the downside, someone does try to kidnap her for ransom. On the upside, Ephum manages to fight the man off long enough for guards to get there. Between Vari's stubborn insistence and Ephum's obvious skill, the King agreed to take the boy on as her bodyguard.Growing Together
Ephum and Vari became inseparable. The quiet boy and the incorrigible princess were together constantly, and became each other's only friends for years. Ephum had some older friends amongst the guard, but by virtue of being so young, he didn't have anyone else his age to connect to. So they quickly became fast friends, even if Vari does most of the talking.Ephum sees everything that happens to Vari in this castle, and he doesn't know how to process the deep skepticism he feels. Especially once he's old enough to realize they're just seizures, and that her family is callously indifferent to that fact. He becomes increasingly protective of her, but he has a deep-seated instinct of self-preservation: don't speak out, don't fight back, don't make waves.Hydaelyn Calls
One night, Ephum has a dream where Hydaelyn calls him to journey to Eorzea and save the star from encroaching darkness. When he wakes, he hears Vari hit the ground in her neighboring room -- likely a telltale sign of a seizure for her. He races in and cares for her until it passes -- and finds out she, too, had a vision from Hydaelyn. A real vision. And this one supports his: he's destined to be a hero, a protector of the star.They start to make plans to figure out how to escape together, to make this happen.The Timeline Accelerates
Unfortunately, Vari is positive that this fits under her purview of Prophet of Visions and it's vital the King and Queen know so they can take their journey. When she tells them excitedly all about it over breakfast, the monarchs realize then that Ephum and Vari have been possessed by high-tier demons and must be put down. So the Queen tells Vari to go and pack her things for her journey, and when she's alone, kills her while praying. Ephum races to her rescue only to die as well--and snaps back to reality a little bit before Vari even reaches her room, as the Echo vision fades. He convinces her they have to leave, and they flee the kingdom to Eorzea.Eorzea and Scions
Once they make it to Eorzea, they start scratching out their own lives as adventurers, training for whatever Hydaelyn needs. Vari starts training as a Dancer, and Ephum starts training as a paladin as he finds power in his feelings for Vari and his desire to keep her safe.A chance adventuring job saving Sultana Nanamo ul Namo from hungering voidsent leads them to the arms of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. His clear power of the Echo and her support leads Minfillia to recruit them and so they move into the Waking Sands to start a new chapter. Ephum begins running missions with the Scions, while Vari joins Urianger in the research department while she trains in Thavnairian Dancing on the side.Under this paradigm, the two of them finally admit their feelings for each other -- much to the amused relief of the other Scions, since it was painfully clear to anyone but them that they're head over heels for each other.The Beast Emerges
But all is not right with Ephum. Due to his upbringing, Ephum has learned to lock every bad feeling away. Outwardly, he is shy, quiet, kind of a himbo, very sweet, and he takes anything dished out at him without complaint. All of his anger, his protest, his discontent and self-protection, are walled off in his mind, deemed unsafe to feel.One a routine mission to capture a Garlean messenger, Vari and Ephum are captured. For reasons unknown to the heroes, the Garleans performed surgery on them, embedding crystals inside them. This destabilizing of their aether does different things to Ephum and Vari: while the crystals are in Vari, she is more prone to seizures. For Ephum, however, the surgery has permanently thrown his careful walls into chaos and the Beast -- the personification of his inner anger and nasty feelings -- has merged with him, forcing him to wrestle with all those things he locked away. Which also turns him into a werewolf-like beast that gets more monstrous the more he's feeling.And that's all so far...

Fiery Passion Meets Playboy Charm

Amber
Amber is one of the 8 children of House Fanin'iel, a family of dryads that have spent generations tending a special grove of trees in Fantasy Seattle. She's the second-youngest, with only an 8 year old little brother younger than her.She was married to Lord Byron Ashton, the scion of a popular opium empire, and it was largely a benign relationship. However, their personalities and needs were mismatched, and she didn't thrive in that environment.Enter Jason.Jason
Jason ran away from home in his mid-teens when he got in a fight with his parents over how he used his powers. He has the power to influence his personal gravity, and he wanted to use it to steal things; his parents didn't agree, and he left.Amber and Jason met when he was in disguise as a waiter at a noble ball she was at, as part of a heist. What started as a rocky, antagonistic meeting eventually turned to friendship, and then to more.Together
While she tried to stay faithful to her marriage, she felt burgeoning feelings for Jason that she tried to squash. It didn't help that he was everything her family wasn't: free-spirited, counter-culture, blunt and loud, raunchy and playful. She could feel that he was bringing out a side of herself she didn't know she had, someone not bound by rules and structure and her role in her house and society.Unfortunately (fortunately?) he was also bringing something else in her. A shared kiss began a transformation she had never anticipated. As it turns out, she wasn't just a dryad, but a Venus Succubus as well.Venus Succubi
Venus Succubi are fey creatures that thrive on connection with others -- not necessarily sex, but that is part of it too. Any sort of human connection feeds her soul and physical body: laughter, cuddles, good company, dancing, etc.On the flipside, bad interactions -- violence, manipulation, cruelty, and so on -- sicken her and sap her energy.Venus Succubi transformation is triggered by a kiss with a true love, and they need to stay with their soulmate to get the most nourishing connection, so they tend to be very rare. But Amber happens to be one of them. With her dryad nature combined with her succubus self, her dryad animal (each dryad has their own animal characteristics, according to their personality; it's not genetic) turned out not to be a deer as previously thought, but a dragon, as the two magical heritages mixed into something unique.And So
An arrangement was met with her family and the Ashtons and her arranged marriage: they would disown her publicly and annull the marriage while maintaining private support, and in return she could be with Jason. (Considering she would literally die without him, since she and Byron weren't very close, it wasn't much of a choice.)So now they live in the shit side of town, scraping by in poverty, but having the time of their lives. She's trying to save enough money to pay off Jason's debts with dangerous people, and trying to keep him from doing more thieving; he's trying to focus on his band and improve as a person for Amber's sake. Both are rocky propositions, but they're enthusiastic and dedicated to each other.
